14/10/11 Practice Squad Changes (other than A-Grade)
Following the first round of games there have been some changes to training squads. The “Development Squad” is now replaced by a B/C Grade Squad and a D-Grade/C1 ATCA Squad. This aligns players more with their current team.
Any player who gains selection in a higher grade (e.g. promotion from D’s to C) will then be required to train with the relevant team they are playing in. Players who are selected in a lower grade may continue to train with the higher grade until a formal revision to these Squads is made. This will occur several times during the season.
If a player cannot train with their allocated squad because of study or work commitments they may train on an alternative night (with permission from team captains or coaches). All players in these two squads are expected to train on at least two nights a week. Anyone unable to train with their team must advise the team captain.
Wednesday night training sessions are open to all players regardless of which team you are in.
Players are assumed to be available for selection unless they have informed their Team Captains, Coaches or Practice Captain (Phil Penn – BeanBag) or LO Selection Coordinator (Tony Lock) by the Tuesday night before the next game. Ensure you have contact details of these Club personnel.
It is the player’s responsibility to check which team they have been selected to play in. Teams are announced on Thursday nights during practice. However, ATCA Limited Over (LO) team selection is made after Wednesday nights training session and communicated to players by Friday at the latest. SACA Grade teams are published in Saturday’s Advertiser. All teams are listed Friday on the MyCricket Website which can be accessed through the “Team Selection” link on the Club’s own Website.
Late changes to teams due to injury or other issues are communicated directly to players involved by team captains.
